Built by a TradeGecko User, For TradeGecko Users

When Intuit shut down TradeGecko in 2022, 10,000+ users were left without a home. VNDLY brings back what made TradeGecko great, simple, powerful inventory management, with modern AI capabilities.

TradeGecko was genuinely good at what it did. Clean UI, sensible purchasing and sales workflows, a self-serve B2B portal, and pricing that made sense for growing product businesses. When Intuit acquired it in 2020 and rebranded it QuickBooks Commerce, the writing was on the wall — and in May 2022 the platform was shut down entirely, leaving tens of thousands of users scrambling for a replacement. Here's how VNDLY fits that gap, and where it goes further.

What TradeGecko was built for

TradeGecko was built for exactly the businesses that are hardest to serve well: product brands, importers, and wholesale distributors who needed real purchasing and sales order workflows, multi-location stock tracking, a B2B buyer portal, and tight Xero or QuickBooks accounting integration — all without the implementation project and enterprise price tag of a full ERP. It threaded that needle well for years and built a loyal following precisely because it didn't try to be everything.

The shutdown in 2022 wasn't a failure of the product — it was an acquisition and strategic pivot by Intuit, who was focused on QuickBooks Online rather than building out a standalone inventory platform. Former TG users were pushed toward QuickBooks Commerce (now also discontinued) or left to evaluate a landscape of tools that mostly came in two flavors: too simple, or too complex and expensive.

Where VNDLY picks up the thread

VNDLY covers the same core use case TradeGecko was built for: purchase orders in, sales orders out, multi-location stock in between, a B2B portal for wholesale buyers, and accounting sync to Xero and QuickBooks Online. The workflow logic should feel familiar — raise a PO, receive stock, fulfill a sales order, invoice the customer.

Two things are materially better than what TG offered. First, VNDLY includes an AI assistant (BYOK — bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic key) on every plan, so you can ask plain-English questions against your live inventory, purchasing, and sales data — something that wasn't possible in 2022's version of the product. Second, demand forecasting and stock projections are native features, not add-ons — the system reads your actual purchasing history and sales velocity to surface reorder recommendations without requiring a manual model.

Pricing, then and now

TradeGecko's last published pricing was $39/month on the entry plan, scaling up through Founder, Momentum, and Advanced tiers — the B2B portal was included on most paid plans, which was a differentiator at the time.

VNDLY starts at $49/month (Starter: 2 users, 500 orders/month, B2B portal not included) and $149/month on Professional (10 users, 5,000 orders/month, B2B portal + Sales Agents included). If you were on TradeGecko's mid-range plan to get the B2B portal, Professional at $149/month is the closer comparison — it includes forecasting, AI, and the portal with no separate add-on fee. Enterprise at $349/month adds unlimited users, custom integrations, and custom reporting.

Who this is (and isn't) for

VNDLY is a good fit if...

  • You were a TradeGecko user and want the same core workflows — purchasing, sales orders, multi-location stock, and a B2B portal — without rebuilding from scratch.
  • You sell wholesale and direct-to-consumer and want both channels in one system with a self-serve buyer portal.
  • You want AI-assisted forecasting and reporting built into the product, not a paid module bolted on.
  • You need Xero or QuickBooks Online accounting integration and don't want to manage a separate sync tool.

You may want to look elsewhere if...

  • You need full manufacturing MRP — Bills of Materials, production scheduling, shop-floor tracking — that TradeGecko never offered either.
  • You need EDI connections into big-box retail trading partners.
  • You need a point-of-sale system integrated directly into inventory.
  • You're a very large enterprise that needs deeply customized ERP workflows — TradeGecko's ceiling was also there.

Before VNDLY we had no real system, just spreadsheets and a lot of manual work. Since switching, our order processing is faster, stock accuracy has improved significantly, and invoicing takes a fraction of the time.

Moving from TradeGecko (or QuickBooks Commerce) to VNDLY

If you exported your data when the platform closed, VNDLY can import it directly. If you've been on a stopgap tool since 2022, the same process applies.

  1. 1

Export your product and supplier data

Pull a CSV of your product/SKU list, on-hand quantities, and supplier records. VNDLY's importer maps products, unit costs, supplier names, and stock counts — the same fields TradeGecko used.

  2. 2

Import your customer list and open orders

Bring across your customer records and any open sales orders so outstanding invoices and delivery commitments carry through without re-entry.

  3. 3

    Connect your sales channels

Link Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Squarespace — orders pull in automatically and stock syncs back to your storefronts, the same way TG's integrations worked.

  4. 4

    Set up your accounting integration

Connect Xero or QuickBooks Online so purchase invoices and sales invoices sync across without manual reconciliation.

  5. 5

Turn on the B2B portal for wholesale buyers

VNDLY's B2B portal gives wholesale buyers self-serve ordering with your prices and terms — replicate the same experience your buyers had in TradeGecko, or improve on it.

FAQ

Common questions

Intuit acquired TradeGecko in 2020 and rebranded it QuickBooks Commerce, intending to integrate it with QuickBooks Online. By May 2022 Intuit had decided to discontinue the platform entirely, citing a strategic shift toward core QuickBooks accounting features. The shutdown left tens of thousands of users without a migration path from Intuit.

No — VNDLY is a separate, independently built product. But it targets the same use case: purchasing, multi-location inventory, sales orders, invoicing, B2B wholesale portal, and e-commerce integrations for product brands and distributors. Think of it as the same job-to-be-done with a modern AI layer added.

Yes. If you exported your TradeGecko data before the shutdown (or have it from a stopgap tool since), VNDLY supports CSV import for products, suppliers, customers, and stock levels. Open purchase orders can also be imported so in-transit inventory stays accurate.

Yes. VNDLY's B2B portal is included on Professional ($149/month) and Enterprise plans. Wholesale buyers get a self-serve ordering experience with your pricing and terms — no manual quote-and-invoice back-and-forth required.

Marginally on the entry plan — TradeGecko's lowest tier was $39/month, VNDLY Starter is $49/month. However, VNDLY Professional at $149/month includes AI forecasting, the B2B portal, and Sales Agents — features that required a higher TG tier. If you were on TradeGecko's mid-range plan, the comparison is favorable.
